Pierce Brosnan In Mourning After Death Of Daughter Charlotte From Ovarian Cancer, That Killed His First Wife Cassandra

Pierce Brosnan has announced the death of his daughter, Charlotte, following her three-year battle with ovarian cancer.
The James Bond star told People.Com:
"On June 28 at 2 pm my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean.
"Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."

Charlotte was 41 and lived in London with her family. Her children are 14 and 8.
This is the same disease that took the life of Pierce Brosnan's first wife Cassandra Harris in 1991, and also her grandmother.
Pierce Brosnan adopted Charlotte and her brother Christopher, the children of Cassandra, after the death of their father Dermot Harris in 1986.

Pierce Brosnan has prayed for a cure to this 'wretched disease'
The actor married TV presenter Keely Shaye Smith since 2001 and the couple have two children, Dylan, 16 and Paris, 12.

This year's Oscars are set to pay tribute to The Bond franchise but one former 007 agent appears to have ruled himself out of the celebrations.
Pierce Brosnan has hinted that he won't be taking part in the rumoured reunion, which is said to be include all former Bond stars.
In a video posted to TMZ the Irish-born actor is asked if he will be joining the group at The Oscars and he replied: 'Well, they'll be missing one.'
When the photographer asks for clarification if it will be Sean Connery or himself who will be missing out Pierce just smiled and jumped into his car.
The Bond fraternity including Daniel Craig, Sir Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby are set to take to the stage at the star-studded ceremony on February 24, according to the Daily Record.
But while Pierce appears to have ruled himself out it was initially thought that that Sean Connery would be the person least likely to attend.

A source told the paper: 'Sir Sean has been invited to take to the stage along with Daniel and the other 007s. As yet, we've not had a no from him. Normally he is quick to turn things down.'
'Sean's relationship with the Oscars is good and we're hoping he'll appear.'
The James Bond franchise will be receiving a special tribute during the ceremony to mark its 50th anniversary at the Academy Awards.
British music icon Adele will be taking to the stage to perform her track Skyfall, from the latest Bond film, which is tipped to win Best Original Song at the ceremony.
A spokesperson for Pierce was unavailable for comment on Monday.
